Michael Bornstein the author of this book is the boy in this story. He was just three year old when he and his family were sent to Auschwitz - Birkenau Death Camp. Michael's mother, grandmother were the only others in his immediate family to survive Auschwitz. This book is a true story so it does have some topics in it that younger readers would be sensitive to, so I would recommend this to young adults.
