A Break With Charity is a Historical Fiction novel about the infamous Salem Witch Trials of 1692. We all have some degree of knowledge about the Salem Witch Trials and the lasting mark they left on Early American history. This novel by Ann Rinaldi gives us a detailed account of the betrayal and lies that turned neighbors against neighbors and those who you once called friends, into your worst enemy. The main character of this novel is a girl named Susanna who discovers the truth about the accusations and becomes torn between telling the truth and risk having her and her family named witches or letting more and more innocent people get hurt. The author of this book, Ann Rinaldi actually wrote another book, The Secret Of Sarah Revere, which I had to read in school and it was a really good, so I decided to give this book a try. I would rate this book 3 out of 5 stars and I have put Ann Rinaldi's other historical fiction novels on my reading bucket lists it was a page-turner and and a overall really well written Historical Fiction novel. This novel was enthralling and a great read, I would definitely recommend it to anyone who would like to learn more about the Salem Witch Trials.
